Different filter in CAI?

Different filter in CAI?
i was just wondering if performance would be hurt if you were to lets say put a K&N filter on an Injen CAI? i want to replace my filter and was thinking i might change it to a K&N. feed back would be appreciated. thanks in advanced.

I already have done it, because I wanted to be able to take out the filter from the top. The one that came with it was to fat. I got the RU-3130. It has the same surface area.
