Has anyone had the VQ35 Rebuilt? Mine has had, and continues to have some oil consumption issues, not too bad, but if it gets worse I may need to do something... All I've seen is people getting the motors replaced, but some still have the issue even w/ a new motor, so if its possible to rebuild, and be sure to resolve the oil consumption issue- I'd rather do that....

 

hmm let's do the math. Rebuild your old engine on your dime or infiniti gives you a brand new one for free.

Tough call.

 

If it was under warranty, I wouldn't even ask the question... Mine has always burned some oil, but I wasn't aware of this TSB until recently, and by now I'm out of warrantly...

 

are you sure you are out? powertrain warranty is 7/70

 

I'm def out, it's an 05, and I have ~75k on it...

 

well that sucks. Rebuild for you I guess. When I got mine replaced they told me it was a $12k warranty job to put in a new one

 

Where can i buy RevUp engine components for rebuild at a decent price??

You can get an OEM replacement long block from 123 Engine (they also sell on ebay) for $1800 + core. If you are looking to stay OEM, this would probably be the best option. These come with warranty as well.

 

once i start to get oc i think im going to do the hr swap in mine. no signs so for so im good.for now
