im wondering/thinking about doing the vk45 swap into my 2003 g sedan but i havent been able to find any information on if anyone has done it or worth doing it.. if anyone had any links or knows of anyone that has done it help me out

 

The VQ37 is better in a lot of ways.

 

does or would it drop in to the platform for the g35..

 

don't bother.

use your existing motor and stroke that puppy.

Somebody did a vk45de swap...or was in the process. The thread was going for 18 months. I stopped paying attention to it.

 

i was also thinking of doing that.. i found a Brian Crower VQ35 Stroker Kit that put its to a 4.1L with a 100ml bore, the reviews said it will hold something like 1200hp

 

The vq45de does fit with some additional modifications for the mounting and for some clearance. The only issue is that the stock throttle body/intake manifold is located up top of the engine, so it will stick out too much. Either you chop off a portion of the hood to provide it the clearance it needs, or try finding a different throttle boy/intake manifold that will give it better clearance. I know because this swap i wanted to do. Thats about the only issue i can think of.

Here is a VK56 in 2 350z. The VQ37 is just a lot less work than the VH45 and VK56 and it's superior just because it's newer and it has a lot of aftermarket support.

 

Here is a VH45 240. It's weird hearing a V8 from an import.

Just talk to GT Motorsports. IMO boost is a better idea and less work but it would be unique.
