I sent my request a while back. Looks like they just grabbed a generic reply for any inquiries related to warranty.

-----------------------

File######
Dear: (my real name),

Thank you for taking the time to contact Infiniti with regards to your inquiry.

The perimeters of the manufacture’s warranty which is: basic 48 months/60,000 miles and power train warranty of 72 months/70,000 miles can not be altered. Infiniti apologizes that you have been experiencing mechanical concerns to your 2006 Infiniti G35 Coupe. There are no open recalls to your vehicle. Recalls are vehicle identification number specific and not just to the make/model of your vehicle. Recalls are issued by the National Highway Traffic/Safety Administration and not Infiniti.

Infiniti advises that you continue to work with your authorized Infiniti dealer as the dealership has the necessary equipment to repair your vehicle. File#6695253 has been created to document your concern. Please feel free to contact us directly at 1-800-662-6200 (Option#7) with any questions or comments.

Sincerely,

Infiniti

^ It's not the valve gasket that is the problem. It's the spark plug seals built into the valve cover...

His post earlier in the thread talks about a kit that includes both valve cover gaskets and 6 replacement o-rings. I'm assuming this is the kit they are wanting to test.

are the original seals easily removed? I thought they are "sealed" in?...

Didn't Andrei recently have a issue trying to remove original O-Ring/seals?

what exactly does the kit entail?...

I'd be willing to test it for you - but I dont drive my car much so I wouldn't have the miles you are probably looking for in a two week period....

If this is not a problem, let me know and I'll give you a call (I plan to replace my valve covers withing the next few months anyway)...

Sorry to break it to you, Infiniti will not do anything. They knowingly sold a faulty rev-up engine for 3 model years, do you really think they care?

Which is why I will never buy another Infiniti ever again. Not just the motor the cheap crap the breaks and needs to replaced every couple of years.

I dont know who your post is responding to... but they will replace under warranty...

The last several posts before yours are regarding an after-market solution though...

Yes they will, but they KNOWINGLY sold the car with the same motor for 2+years...

Not only that, Nissan has a history of oil consumptions. And they still refuse to fix the problem by changing the pistons / rings they are using.

A tech who posted here said it has been going on for 8+ years and that it will be cheaper for Nissan to just fix the problem and they come along instead of changing their ways.

I'm confused on the RD kit. for 250$ It includes BOTH orings and some sort of new valve covers?

All mine are leaking... from what I have read is the seals are not the only problem as the valve covers began to warp around the seals, thus creating the initial leak then the seals go.

Can someone correct me if I'm mistaken or set me on the right path haha.

I dont know about that part... I havent experienced it and dont remember reading about it.

I noticed oil in plugs years ago (way before any of these threads about it) and the car wasn't very old nor did it have many miles - so I dont think warped covers were the reason (at least in my case).

Yeah I will try to look it up when I have time. I extensively tried to figure it out and could of sworn I read long ago it was due to heat? and it warped the compound around the seals. Not sure if people with low miles are having this issue too....seems to not make sense.
