There is no Throttle opening 100%?

I was playing with Ipod application Rev which access to OBDII and read some stats of cars.

When I was reading 'throttle position' stat(Percentage of throttle position relative to throttle range), it does not get to 100% but only 80% even if I pressed the acceleration pedal all the way down.

IT is normal that G35's throttle position does not open 100%? or this program just read 100% as 80%?

Thanks!

I believe it will only open to about 80% when under 30mph and above then it will go to 100%

I tried on both low speed and high speed(above 60) but it did not open fully to 100%.

you need a re-flash for 100% throttle. Nissan limited it to 80% from the factory

Hmmm I already got an uprev tune

Is there any reason that Nissan limited to 80%?

Is it going to get more output if it is set to 100%?

Thanks!!!

i got 100% throttle from my technosquare tune.

yeah, Nissan did that for safety. factory maps already run on the lean side.

top end, yes. how much, all depends on ur setup

Tell me more about the app! Do you need a cord to plug into the OBD2 port?

You can get more information here http://www.devtoaster.com/products/rev/

You need to buy a cable(?) that take data from OBDII port and send it via WIFI. Then Ipod takes the data via WIFI.

The cable is $150 and the App is $40.
You can use this cable to hook up with computer for more readings because the rev can not read all the stats but only some.

I originally bought this because I got CEL to read and wanted to check what the app can do.
However, tt is a fun toy to play with because you can read these stats via Ipod or Iphone.

Hope some developers make same application to Android platform though.

I have the uprev tune and I have 100% throttle. It is an option and I made sure I told my tuner (Slowmotion Motorsports) that I wanted the 100% throttle option.

I have UpRev as well, and I made sure that my Tuner (Slowmotion Motorsports) knew I wanted the 100% throttle option. Check with your tuner and see if they knew about it or not.

Wouldn't increasing 80% to 100% mean it would get 25% more air than before?

I doubt it makes much difference, but 100% is better than 80%. Most of the action is within the first 20% or so, it's a log scale.

It only means it has the potential for more air. More air is not necessarily a good thing. More air with the same amount of fuel means a lean mixture. The proper ratios have to be maintained no matter what the throttle body's potential is. But, allowing the TB to go to a true WOT state (100%) will help generate more power.
