Throttle Body Spacer or Vortec Cyclone
Wait so you dyno'd with the unit on and then dyo'd it again with it off and the hp went down? Link?
Because if my understanding is right, Tony chimed in well after Church's dyno was performed right? Or at least chimed in knowing that the latest round of testing was done yes?

I made it clear earlier in this thread that nothing I have said is to start yet another tbs merry-go-round.
post in the tbs thread if you want to go in circles again...
From my experience the best bang for the buck is test pipe, true dual exhaust, motordyne 1/2 inch plenum spacer, and a Bline intake with not tune I made 246hp and 230lbft of torque feels descent. Definitley lower it the car on some kind of coilover and buy a camber kit for the front for sure. Throttlebody spacer is hype can't find any numbers on it so I'm staying away from it next for me is headers and tune my goal is 260 to 270 N/A. A 98 cobra makes 252hp and 264tq there pretty quick to the wheels. So the car won't be slow should be a 13 sec car
^ I did say I'd add a spacer for power, even though the spacer alone really only made something like a 1 hp gain on my revup. But what the hp numbers don't show is the gain in fuel, and how much faster the car goes through gears (all before a tune).
Depressing.
So far I have read that pretty much all of the after market parts that are intended to increase horsepower are ineffective or just plain scams. Are there any out there that someone would endorse? Short of spending 5k on a Super Charger, Twin Turbo or Nitros, sounds like the options are slim for us folks that would like a few few extra horsepower but are on limited budgets.

There are basic, proven, parts that will yield gains.
If you have a DE, get a spacer, if you have a Revup, get an MREV2 + spacer. Other than that, test pipes will always yield pretty good gains, and a cat-back will complete the combo. Obviously some parts will result in greater power gains than others, but the overall trend is the same. For example, traditional test pipes will add power, but ART pipe will add more power.
Intakes are a touchy subject, but I am inclined to say that one needs a tune in order to harness any gains. I just wish more had adequate heatshields and velocity stacks.
Finally, you'll never go wrong with a tune.
Dont want to make a whole new thread for this... BUT what do you guys think on this???

I have a Custom built motor with a turbo... I have been fixing up the engine and will be taking it in to get tuned in a few months... I am just wondering if this is a good idea or not... Is it worth it?
