I have owned two Nissans (280Z and G35). I have to admit they have been the worst cars I have owned, but they weren't THAT bad. I have generally had very little problems with any car that I have had.

Hate to go slightly off topic here, but it sounds like you just got a bad one. I wouldn't go so far as to call it a lemon, but every manufacturer is going to have cars with problems. I know friends of mine that own Hondas and Toyotas who have seen more lifts and wrenches than pavement, and I know people who own Audio, Mercedes and GM vehicles that haven't seen day in the shop outside of normal maintenance. Fortunately, that's not the norm, but it does happen. You may have this overheating problem and keep the car til your warranty is up and it will never have another problem. Good luck, hope you end up liking the car again!

Yeah, I like it again. I went ahead and got the door lock fixed too, so for now everything is just fine. I did enjoy the 09 G37 sedan loaner. Wow, what a nice car. I didn't even mind the fact that it was auto. So I'm back on the Nissan bandwagon again.

I need to go to your dealer. I am in south florida and one of my radiator fans quit. I stopped by a dealer in south carolina last week while I was working there for a few days - they said they had no idea what I was talking about (warr. extension) and I would have to pay to diagnose and then pay for parts and labor. I had the letter at home, but not with me on the road. Needless to say I did not get it fixed yet.

I am at 95K so I need to do it soon. The car doesn't really 'overheat', but it gets pretty close to the H with the A/C on in traffic.

04 G35 Coupe A/T

Back in March of 2008 I had one of my fan motors replaced(my temp gauge was fluctuating while driving slow), at the time I had 16K miles on my car and had to pay for the repairs.

I have since shipped my car from Hawaii to California and started experiencing the same erratic temp gauge. 30K miles on the car now.

I decided to replace the thermistor myself and flush the coolant. Got everything buttoned up and drove the car around and had the same problem. My dad asked if I had replaced my radiator cap because they wear out over time and might be pulling air into the coolant system when the engine cools overnight. Replaced my cap purged the air from the coolant system and have been running right in the middle of the temp gauge ever since.

I would suggest changing the radiator cap, and purge the air from the coolant system. I picked up my radiator cap from a Nissan dealer for $13.00

http://infinitihelp.com/diy/gcoupe/p..._procedure.htm

That video will show you where the air purge screw cap is located(Passenger side next to the battery cover)

And if both of your fans aren't running at the same time, the one not running is either bad or has a bad relay.

Infiniti Customer Service: 1-866-536-6691 Call them if you have had work done on your radiator fans and get reimbursed(100K miles, 96 months) or if your dealer doesn't seem to have any knowledge of the extended warranty.

I don't know how old your car is or how many miles it has, but if it is still under warranty infiniti some times tows. I pay for towing through my insurance now for 2 bucks a month.

Give your nearest dealer a call and tell them what happened, ask if you can get a tow under warranty.
