Re: TEST PIPE SMELL?...

jdj27x,

sorry didn't mean to hijack your thread like that.

are your pipes still smelling weird? the fitment on my cats is less than perfect and i was thinking of ditching them in favor of resonated test pipes, provided they don't make my car smell like noxious fumes

Re: TEST PIPE SMELL?...

test pipes, resonated test pipes - all the same - the smell will still be there regardless - either you have to get used to it (like me - have had them for 8+ months) or put the stock cats back on...

Re: TEST PIPE SMELL?...

ok I finnaly got the OBD2 scan tool and it says that the catalic converter efficiency is no good (not exact words) but basically it's saying that the cats are no good. I erased the code with the scan tool but it just keeps coming back. Looks like my next step is to try the non-fouling adapters.

Re: TEST PIPE SMELL?...

that's my only complaint is that they turn the tips a bronze dull brass color. My engine light did come on after a few hours of the install. I tried the ecu reset and that didnt work, it came back. All i did was disconect the battery for 12 hrs and it worked. Only thing is that its a pain setting the stations.

Man davey, i get the same thing even after polishing the tips. They are like burt orange looking from running rich or lean is it?? They are so black, then i clean them, polish it and its a shiney brown, it sucks so much!
