Yea i was wondering if there are any gains from taking the AC belt off. The reason is because my dam ac belt keeps sqeaking and i have tried everything possible for it to stop and i t wont. I tried tightning and loosen it tried spary **** on it and still. Could it be my UR pulleys maybe?? Id rather have gains then a sqeaky ac belt haha

Just relieves stress off of the crank. Might as well take your A/C compressor out with it, those suckers are heavy.

Try a new belt? Is the current belt OEM?

You need to adjust the tension of the belt. The belt is squeaking because it is too loose. Tighten the belt up and the noise will go away.

My 1st step was to spray it with belt cleaner and once that didn't work (it rarely does I think), I had the engine steam cleaned, which the shop did gratis b/c I had been there for all of my repairs and inspections. Your cost might be $10-20. That worked! One thing to think about is that belt dressings to stop squeals usually become dirt and grime magnets, which ultimately fry your belt quicker.

If you tighten the belt until it stops squealing and it was greasy, you may over-tighten it, which is not good for the pulley and AC unit bearings. If that fails I'd get a new belt (OEM), inspect the pulley alignment, and bearings, and make sure the new belt is tightened correctly. If you change belts, be sure to thoroughly clean the pulleys before you put on the new belt.
