Missfire, sputter, hiccup.... Fixed!

So i bought my used 2003 infinit g35 with 95k on the clock. After about 3 months it started to have a slight misfire at idle. So, i let it slide. About the 8 month it was considerably worse. I started with changing the spark plugs. No change. Month 9 Changed coil packs. No change. Month 10 failed cam sensors 1. So i changed both sensors. Still had the missfire. Cleaned throttle body and upper plenum. Got a little better. Finally changed the pcv and breather hose.

It's finally fixed and purrs very nicely.

Hope this helps someone!

How much was the PCV, and how hard was it to change? Where is it and how do you do it?

Thanks for the inof. PCV replacement isn't something that comes up on this forum very frequently.

PCV costs your $11-12 at any NISSAN dealership
it will take 5 min to swap out yourself.

I don't think you need to change the hose - unless you mutilate it. It should have no problems.

thanks tollbooth for posting up the cost. although no one answered the location of the pcv.

You have to take off the engine cover and it's at the forward left of the engine looking from the front of the car. You can goolge it and it will show you what it looks like.

I wonder if you can just clean the PCV instead buying a new one?

I would just replace it with OEM. This valve is critical to keeping the engine clean and happy.

Sometimes the hoses do get filled up with crap and need to be cleaned or replaced.
