Starting Problem!! Someone Please Help

Hi Everyone,

Just looking for some guidance on a problem that i am having, sometimes my car just doesnt start and other times it does, today i had this problem when i tried starting the car and when i turn the key it makes the starting noise, but the engine wouldnt start running for me to pull the car out of park. I tried starting it a few times and finally it started but the SLIP light stayed on and didnt turn off. Now i got home, and parked it and started it up again and it started up right away. I dont understand what is going on. Has anyone else experienced this?

A problem aside from this is one that i have particularly in the morning when starting and my car starts up but makes squeeking noises that comes from the hood, but it comes and goes, its doesnt happen when i turn the wheel but just when i start driving and it just squeeks here and there until maybe the car warms up. Its becoming annoying and its starting to grow on me. I recently had the belt changed too, im not sure if its the belt or something else, anyone have any clue?

Support for these problems will be greatly Appreciated.

Thanks.

#1) your belts need to be changed or at a minimum adjusted for tension. This is the cause of your squeaks.

#2) The starting problem could be Starter motor, spark plugs, ignition coils, cam phase sensors, crank sensor, throttle body, vacuum leak, battery, alternator, etc.... There are so many things it could be but in order to help you more you will need to describe the symptoms better.

How many miles do you have on your car?

Have you changed spark plugs?

When was the last time you replaced your battery, if ever?

Have you had the batter/alternator tested?

I just had the belts changed, i will have it adjusted for tension today that makes good sense to me.

I have not had the plugs changed, and im thinking its time to get it changed, so im going to have that done today too. the battery was just recently changed aswell after i drained it when i was washing my car with music running too loud lol I may also have the alternator and starter tested from a place that i know very well.

the last time i had this problem was on sunday according to my dad and he said it started up after a few times of turning the key. And he also said that one time when he was driving the car just shut off on him. Personally, this happened to me once which was yesterday but i want to get this fixed before it happens to me outside of my area.

slip light

most likely its a bad or going bad crankshaft position sensor that is bringing the slip light on and causing it not to start sometimes.

i hope my 'engine noises' go away with the new pulleys. And new spark plugs with these cold winter starts. It's around 9°F in the mornings here in Chicago already. Thankful for my garage!!
