O-ring = Blown motor
Had I known that a simple starting problem would blow my engine in about 3 months. I would have taken things more seriously.
The G would always start up immediately , first turn of the key she would start in about half a second, but one day she didn't start on the 1st attempt ,I let it crank for like 3 seconds. But she started up on the second try , it took about 2 seconds (on the second attempt), and let me say that was really unusual for the G. From that day on thats how it was . No more quick starts.
I wasn't really that concerned , cause she still started, and she still made really good power. I mentioned the starting issue to my mechanic , and he said " probably a bad crank position sensor " so now the start issue REALLY gets moved to the back burners.
Fast forward three months motor is blown and gross polluter , I pull it ,get a used one , install motor , take to dyno ( Had to put all of the mods back on )
tuner guy says my AFR is like 22.3......... FUEL ISSUES. G was way way lean , but in a really bad way. tuner dumped tons more fuel into the engine ,it was so rich that I barley got home.Next day fuel pressure test Fuel psi is supposed to be like in the 50's ...................Mine was 40psi on start up , but when revving the engine it dropped to 25, ................I blew it cause i starved it for fuel. one dime sized o-ring came off of something on the fuel pump, so because of that I had a fuel leak in the tank, and i never knew because it was in the tank.

You should've been able to tell the car was running lean - after about 16 afr it will start to hesitate and power falls off considerably. The stock ECU also should have tripped a lean AFR CEL since all 2004.5+ cars run widebands. Hmmm....
ughhh damn it, I was suppose to go to service for my starting issue today...
My car been bolt on for past 2 yrs, without a tune. End of last winter I killed my fuel pump, and Same problem as yours, it would need the 2nd crank to start.
Service guys couldn't find the problem on their own went back to what I said, tested the fuel pump and was only running 60%.
Now end of summer, Im back with the same problem, my 2nd guel pump is on its way out.
I should really get to it, not worth blowing the engine over a fuel pump.
All these bolt ons make the car run very lean, needs a very good tuner to have a longer lifetime.
Anyone has experience with Walboro 255 fuel pump? I was thinking about upgrading to it, and hopefully not killing it like I kill the OEM pump.
