Why are you going with BC springs instead of the JWT? Most of the guys I've seen build for NA used JWT springs and some of them are revving to 8200-8300

why not? lets just say i got a really good deal on the whole package. and i have no doubt bc valvetrain can handle the revs. i built a dsm 6bolt motor with bc valvetrain and it held up nicely. i was just curious as to anyone that had them or knew about them from experience on the vq

we use BC valvetrains on all our cars, they have performed flawlessly. Do you have springs, retainers, and valves? Personally I'd stop at 8000, just to be on the safe side and know that there's some margin or error.

I doubt there is much difference between the JWT and BC when it comes down to it. If you got a good deal then I'm sure I would have done the same.

I am very close to buying the BC valves, springs and retainers. I already have the stage 2 cams in the car, and they are great no complaints.

Car did not idle for me at all, I had to bump my idle up. I am TT so a retune and I picked up noticeable midrange, and kept making power until redline. I didn't do the springs and retainers, because I wanted to do the valves at the same time.

Can i get away with HR springs and is there HR retainers (are the HR ones better than DE) and still good enough for stage 2 cams? I dont want to rev to 8000 or anything crazy... Whats the diff between valve shim and retainer ?
