I would be really interested in getting one of those damaged seals shipped to me. I am wondering if I can talk my friend who works for a large part supplier into rummaging through some seals in their warehouse and finding the right one.

Edit: Advance Auto F'd up those are the wrong seals. Back to square one R&D Factory is the only place to get them from and the price is now $120 for the kit.

 

I need something like this. I am trying to do this now and the saw keeps jumping all over the place making it impossible to cut out a circle. How am I suppose to do this?

 

Looking at doing the rocker cover/valve cover oil seal myself. Fairly handy, but a little nervous. Thanks for a great thread. The manifold looks like a big project. Is it something an average guy can handle?

 

Look who I found on eBay. I don't have problems with my valve covers yet, but R+D is selling their kit on eBay.

I had oil in a couple of mine when I had the sparkplugs changed a month ago. The mechanic called the local dealer and they told him, replace the valve cover gasket and just RTV the plug seals. It's what they do all the time.

That is a nice find $120 is better than what the dealership wants for the whole valve cover but a little too much for kit of gaskets that probably cost about $25. I was going to fix mine with this method I was pressed for time and then ended up using some red rtv. I also only had one seal that leaked. The amount that some people try to charge for parts and services on this car is ridiculous. I called a paint shop about getting my car painted he asked what car I owned I said it was a g35 then he quoted $4000. Then I called back and said I wanted to paint an acura tl and the price dropped by $1,000 he stated its because the g35 needed an extra process and the acura doesn't . I didn't know there was a three stage process for OB

 

Should have told them it was a Ford Focus....
