Engine block replaced at 50k, now 100k oil consumption issue again?!?!?!
So it seems they haven't actually taken the time to redesign the engine to fix this issue since I had my block replaced at 50k...
Now at 100k the engine is an oil guzzler again
Why have they not fixed this issue????? Anyone have this problem where they had to take it in again after doing it once?
Also, I have TPs, will that be an issue if I bring it in? Should I replace them with a hiflow cat? I take it I'm allowed to replace my exhaust by law when the car is over like 80k or 100k, at least thats what I remember seeing for cars in CA...
Any thoughts?

No they've never fixed the actual issue with the piston rings, OC will always be a problem with these engines. This is because they are banking on most of us being out of powertrain warranty by the time it happens again, so it doesn't make financial sense for them to spend money fixing this issue. That's just my 2 cents.
As far as test pipes, make sure to take off all breather mods before bringing the car in. I wouldn't even risk it with HFC's. If it's the difference between a new engine (albeit still OC-prone) and getting denied warranty, I'd do all I can to bring the car back to stock.

Problem is that my stock cats are dead...so my only option would be to leave my TPs and get rid of the CEL, or buy some Hi-Flow Cats....I mean technically speaking, the highflow cats are in fact legal and a replacement for broken stock cats...right?
If you don't have anything else then HFC's will have to do. Just that in my experience they will use any reason against you to deny your warranty.
They tried to give me $hit for some mods that werent even on the car.
Believe it or not, my friend had a oil Consumption on his 05 6mt sedan, he beat the living crap out of the car for 10k miles and it didn't burn oil at all after that.

Well, yes in CA but they have to be 50 state....none of the bolt on HFCs for our cars are 50 state. So unless you have custom HFCs that are 50 state cats, and can provide the papers for it if they ask, then buy undead factory ones.

But they actually have to prove that my "mods" in fact caused the issue to start happening...
Can a HFC/TP actually make the engine burn more oil?
Can a HFC/TP actually make the engine burn more oil?
"it allows more air flow out the engine increasing the power output (however so slightly) and this was enough to cause the rings to unseat properly and cause the oil consumption."
says Infiniti dealer to you
you are out of warranty and no new engine with money from you
