Motor Swap!

I have a 2003 g35 coupe with a blown motor. I am looking at doing a motor swap to a 2005-2007 vq35de. Anyone know if there is any difference between the two motors install wise?

Mechanical install is the same

Electrically different if you are putting in a Rev-Up motor

Harness is slightly different and ECU

You are much better off to find a 03-04 engine that is a direct replacement

Stick with the motor you have and both your wallet and you will be happy with the decision. You will need the revup engine, engine harness and ecu to make it work. Once all that works and you have it installed then the motor will start burning oil due to revup design. You will forget to check the oil regularly and end up starving the motor. Then you will post up about how your 2nd motor just crapped out. See the drift...stick with the stock motor and save your $$$ for real MODS like FI.

If you get a 2005-2006 motor make sure its from a 5AT and it will be a direct swap.

the 2005-2006 6MT has the rev-up and like they said - the ECU/WIRING harness are different
