? about engine oil
Does anyone know if there are any risks/negatives involved in switching back and forth between mineral-based and synthetic oil in our engines?
i believe that once you go synthetic you should stay synthetic forever and never switch back. Maybe this is a wives tale, but I have been told this many times and tend to believe it.
I admit this provides NO explanation for how hybrid oils work.

I've heard that older versions of synthetic will turn to a gel when introduced to dino oils. That's why you were supposed to stick with just one or the other. But supposedly with todays formulations this does not hold true anymore.
I don't actually know this to be true it's just what I heard.

Actually there is quite a bit of evidence that seems to say that there is no need to get expensive with motor oil.
