Whats up all
my names Omar, just purchased an '04 g35 coupe this past weekend so I figured id join to gain some more knowledge on my car and hopefully meet some of the locals.

Im posting here because im already having issues with my motor. The motor has 99,xxx miles and is now being used as my daily. Upon buying it, I had recieved an oil change+ filter because it was really black and dirty. As far as the carfax was concerned, no maintenance had been done to the motor, besides oil changes and some other very minors. My problem is as of yesterday, I am hearing a constant ticking sound coming from the drivers side of the motor. As i give it gas, the ticking speeds up and slows at idle. Im pretty sure its coming from the valve, but i havent actually looked closely at it yet as I havent had time. Car still drives fine, but is annoying hearing the sound. Its not too loud either, acutally cant even hear it from the cabin, but as soon as i roll the window down its distinct.

Now i did get the exteneded warrenty on this car covering motor and tranny, but before I take it in I wanted to get some of your guys's opinion and thoughts. I did a little research already, but am getting 7+ different answers.

Anyone have this issue before, possible cures?
Any help would be much appreciated

Welcome to DRIVER Omar, consider yourself lucky you bought the extended warranty. It's impossible for us to figure out what might be making the noise you describe. Doesn't sound like the previous owner took care of your car since the oil was that black/dirty. I would take it in and have the mechanics figure out the noise. It's possible if you added something to the crankcase to quiet it down they'd void your warranty....just because they could. Unless it's a Nissan warranty most others are a joke....be careful!

im probably going to be running it back into the dealership to get it situated cuz its really annoying me now.
