HKS Replica Exhaust

I just had my HKS replica exhaust installed and the fitment is horrible! There is an exhaust leak on the passenger side of the y pipe and the tail pipes are not fitting into the slots in the diffuser. The guys who installed it put the extension pipes on the front of the y pipe (closest to the engine bay) instead of the back. Could that be my problem or is it just a crappy system? I hope its not both!

I will be taking it back to the shop tomorrow. If it still doesn't fit I will post a link to the ones to stay away from but this might not be much help bc the rumors I have heard say that all these replicas are made by the same company. I guess some are just off. I might post pics too.

ya man the extensions are made just for the G because the Z's don't need them, so yes the extensions are supposed to go after the Y-pipe. And If you do some search on the HKS M2 replica's, just about all have said that the tips dont fit the diffuser slots. All you have to do is heat it to bend the pipe with minor adjustments and the exhaust should be good. Everyones had that same problem but love it after its set right. hope this helps, GL man

I am having that problem. Mine keeps leaking at the connecting points of the y pipe and catalytic. Tried different gaskets didn't work. How do I stop the leak ? Would I have to bend it?

Just take it to a muffler shop and see what they can do. They shouldn't charge you just to look.

Ya ive heard the gaskets aren't good on those. But The gaskets with O-rings are the best for them. not sure where to get them but if you do a little searching, it should solve your problem. GL
