Re: Synthetic voids warranty?

I don't think so but look to see if the manual addresses this.

Re: Synthetic voids warranty?

I called the dealer and they said it will not void warranty, they say that if I will bring 5w-30 synthetic thay can put it in, but to change the transmission fluid to synthetic the service manager will call me back and will find out from infiniti if its ok..

Re: Synthetic voids warranty?

ummm the manual will tell you to use mineral based oil only. As far as what the delaler is tell you well thats somthing different. But i am 100% sure it says only mineral based oil. This has been talked about lots of times befor try a search. you should find information ranging from can we use it to what is the best brand to use. hope that helps you out.

Re: Synthetic voids warranty?

The manual recommends but does not require mineral-based oils. It requires a certain API service grade (check the manual, I forget which one), which most synthetics meet.

Re: Synthetic voids warranty?

I like ryoken's advice, I'm sure if its not on the manual that says synthetic will void warranty then it will not..probably same thing with transmission..

Re: Synthetic voids warranty?

I was referring only to engine oil. I have not looked at what the manual says about the transmission.

Re: Synthetic voids warranty?

What you read is found in the 2003.5 G35 manuals. I have the 2003 manual that states that synthetic oils is acceptable provided it meets the API quality and visocity rating.

Re: Synthetic voids warranty?

Part of the question is, is it for the sedan or the coupe.

The sedan says yes, you can use synthetic

The coupe says mineral based oils only.

Re: Synthetic voids warranty?

The owners manuals don't make a distinction between the two. So why do you think it's different for coupe?
