Shifting to 2nd gear chokes....

Hey guys, as everyone knows I am a new G owner and I just noticed this odd problem on my G.

Everytime I shift coming from first going to second on the redline before hitting the limiter, the car sort of feels like its choking and pauses for a quick second then continues to accelerate. Is this normal? All I have is the typical CAI/H/E bolt ons on my car.

Thanks but I just figured out at another thread that my VDC was on and as the rear tire slips, I get that power loss to control traction. First time with a RWD guys. Sorry. But thanks for the help!
