'Slip' on while driving in rain

I have a 2004 g35 sedan 6spd with stock 17" kumho ecsta ast. While driving in the rain today my slip light was coming on and the tires would spin. I have plenty of tread left and was not accelerating fast. Are the sedans just sensitive? I bought the car in June so rain is new for me and this car. Thanks

Road conditions in rain can vary greatly. Its possible the tires you have are not good in the rain. Its also possible that the oils from the road were causing loss of traction above the water. I would bet that your tires are not rated highly in the rain though.

Thanks for the reply. It seemed better last night. I was also on some incline on the drive yesterday so maybe that added to it. Much appreciated
