new engine due to oil consumtpion but dissapointments.

i just got my engine replaced through warranty at infiniti. and something seems wrong.
it runs and feels "cleaner".

but it feels weaker?

maybe because i cant go above 4k rpm or cant full throttle.
but i have megan headers hks intake and exhaust.

even the exhaust sounds different.
when i used to start the car it would sound sexy and roar. but now it starts and it just is plain and starts blum blum blum blum. no revy ignition.

is this just tuning issues?

i would be very thankful if someone could just give me some quick info.

also i replaced my oem clutch with an act hdss and i already have the jwt flywheel and now it feels easier with a smoother engagement. it feels too smooth like stock honda clutch feeling. and its lighter. i want a heavy grippy clutch :/ ifg you could help on that to id appreciate it..

Was your original engine a rev up and could it be that the dealer replace it with a non rev up one? Usually a brand new/rebuilt motor will need to be break in. If you can't rev past 4k or full throttle it could be in limp mode or something.

Lady at Infiniti said it the same engine with redesigned seals for the cylinders? It's still the rev up. It was only the short block that was replaced.

So much can change with that kind of work being done, even when keeping the same tuned ECU. Definitely get a tune ASAP- it sounds like a lean condition to me. After tuning for my exhaust mods, I instantly noticed more roar and a throatier sounding engine. There is also the possibility that something was not put back correctly. How does it idle?

1k constant... Check your vaccuum lines, plenum gasket, intake tubing, brake booster line, etc for leaks.
My 05 idled at 550 before uprev and is now set to 900 and it hits it on the dot. I doubt yours is set for 1000, you may have a small issue. Nothing serious though.

Hmmm I'm not sure there, I would have not let that one slide... The car should be bucking and going crazy, until you get used to the touchy engagement and unknown catch point of a new- upgraded clutch. Are you sure they replaced it? lol

I have pics lol. I ordered the act off amazon. It only has 20 miles on it so far. As it wears on and reveals not surface area maybe the grip will come? It's Infiniti they wouldn't pull some shady ****? I'm hoping ?

Great news! I didn't realize you haven't even broken in any of these new components.

Your clutch will definitely get better, it will take some wear to get a good surface for it to grip to. You don't really slip your clutch that much I hope, so it might take a little bit of driving.

Your engine is definitely not in limp mode, but it is in "granny mode". Keep it this way for the next few thousand miles... I'm not sure how long exactly to get the new block broken in.

I'd like to assume infiniti did a full ECU reset, idle air volume re-learn and throttle closed position learning procedures. However, it won't hurt to be sure. Do a full reset procedure, you can see how to do it if you search it... you probably have learned it already. If you have trouble with the timing for the initial ECU reset you can unplug the battery and press the brake pedal for a short minute; it does the same thing.

So after this reset:
Drive it very slowly and granny like directly after doing all of the procedures listed above. If you have a 91 octane map to use, do that because it will back off timing and keep everything from being stressed.

Once your engine is broken in:
Get it re-tuned!
Your tuner will do the procedures above, you just need to drive it like you don't give a F#CK for the ride home. You'll be running much richer and you'll get all of your torque back. Not to mention the exhaust note will be epic...
