Nismo Cold Air Intake...
Nismo Cold Air Intake...
I currently have a brand new Nismo Cold Air Intake, never opened out of box. I dont see much people using them and Im leaning towards a Z tube now.
Any comments on if I should keep the intake...or try selling it.
If anyone is interested I am asking $275 shipped for the intake. Its brand new..my lost is your gain.
PM or e-mail me if interested : trini803@hotmail.com

I think the reasons people arent using full intakes, such as the nismo, is because:
1. The power difference between the Z tube and a full intake is not significant, if there is even any real difference at all.
2. The Z tube is MUCH cheaper than a full intake.
The nismo one is good though. If you already have it, you might as well use it. It'll be hard to get 275 for it in my opinion.

I was looking at intakes today for mine and came across the usuals...injen, aem, stillen, and your nismo. oh yeah, cant forget the pop charger.
I love the look of the nismo, but thats nothing to do with power increase. I need to search the forums, but though the popcharger claims a 1 horsepower addition to the wheels than the nismo, you have to think...over what range and when?
When I first bought my RSX S, there was, as usual, an intake battle going on and this one magazine did great tests to find tru outputs on the same car under same conditions. I would love if something like this was done for the G because we saw actual dynos.
My money would be on the nismo for me personally due to looks and reliability. I dont blame anyone on this board nor do I mean to flame nor am I looking for any, but I just dont see putting a popcharger on my car.
The fluid dynamics under the hood are completely beyond me, however, I do think its impossible to have a filter under the hood (even with heat sheild) to completely block off the hot air. Even if the filter is completely boxed in, new fresh sufficient cool air is needed to be efficient.
like the guy said before me, keep the tube, I wold be happy with it.

I have a Nismo Cold Air Intake. And the power difference is slightly noticeable although it is nothing dramatic. With that said, there is absolutely no way a nismo cold air intake can be worse than a Z tube.. The Z tube is a factory stock intake tube for the 350z, While the Nismo Cold Air Intake is Nissan motorsports version of a performance cold air intake, made for the 350z and g35 that want to add a little bit of horsepower for their car. If you haven't purchased neither intake and ask me for my opinion on what intake to get, i wouldn't recommend nismo cai, unless its for looks because the difference between the Z tube and nismo cai is minimal and not worth the price. But since you already purchased it already, i think you might as well just install it because performance wise a nismo intake would not be inferior to a Z tube, if anything it should be a little bit better. Now to answer the question why everybody has a ztube, is because it is much cheaper than everything else , and performance wise its about the same. Nobody is going to pay a extra 200 dollars for half a horsepower or 1 hp difference. If the nismo cai was same price as ztube im sure alot of ppl would have a nismo cai instead. I reccommend you keep it since your already purchased it.
