Mid pipe replacement?? Dealer or muffler place???

So I need to get the mid pipe fixed on my 2005 G35 sedan.... its making an annoying rattling noise that's driving me nuts! Now the dealership quoted me $1225. Is it worth it to go to a muffler place for a quote? This might be a stupid question but I want to make sure the job gets done properly and just need some input. The place I would take it to is a reputable place with many local shops but its not a chain.

???

Gotta love the prices the Stealerships charge us! I would have asked them if I had "STUPID" written on my forehead. The best way to resolve this issue is to have your local muffler shop find out what your problem really is. Most rattles on our cars is caused by the converter covers breaking lose, which they do often! If you do need a new pipe the muffler shop can make you a new one from cents on what Infiniti quoted you....Gary

I have a perfectly fine OEM sedan resonator for 2005. Just come down to texas and take me to a fancy steak / lobster dinner and you can have it . Labor will run you probably $60-$100 to install it but seriously it is like 4 bolts, 2 gaskets and 2 hangers. Extremely easy and should take less than 1 hr labor for book time.

You can always get a walker replacement
