How to amplify stock exhaust sound
Hey guys, I'm a new G owner. I found threads that were closed about how to make the stock sound deeper and louder. Looks like the Fast Intentions HFC were the answer, but I live in CA, so its illegal to have HFC's and not even sure if it would pass smog.
So is there another part I can mod to keep the stock sound and make it deeper? I was told headers with a intake would do?

The best I've ever heard my exhaust prior to going FI was stock exhaust / cats with spacer and stillen hi-flow box / K+N cone filter. Same note, but the roar was much more prominent.
As long as we're just talking about the sound as opposed to performance...

As mentioned before the HR y-pipe is your best bet. It will amplify the oem sound slightly without changing it's unique tone.
Any HFCs will cause some rasp on the oem system, some more than others.
Vids are nice but they will not represent the true sound of any exhaust. best bet is to hear it in person.
To enhance the oem exhaust note even more air intakes and the motordyne spacer help. MREV2 for sure if u have 6mt.

Looks like my current plan is HR Y-Pipe and a Nismo Cold air intake.
This seems like a good deal?

Unless anyone knows a better deal.

I swear I can hear a G when they pull hard from a mile away. But that Honda sound I instantly tune out.
Recently people have been saying, "new exhaust, gained 15hp!" When really they tuned after getting the new exhaust and that's where the gains are from.
Anything that makes your car feel faster and that brings back the driving experience is golden though. Going from G tube to Z tube was a huge change for me haha. Now it's a fight for noise... Intake versus exhaust pitch.
