I never thought that any intake combo has ever changed my exhaust sound, loudness or tone. The only sound they made was a sucking sound when I step on the gas.

If you want a sedan to sound like a coupe, get the coupe mid-pipe and an HKS muffler. It will be a little louder, and it won't sound exactly the same, but it is close and even sounds nicer than a stock coupe exhaust. You can come close with just the coupe mid-pipe and stock sedan exhaust as well, but it just won't be as noticeable.

If you want your coupe to be a bit louder but keep the same tone, get the Nismo exhaust.

^air intake mods don't affect exhaust tone. its jus in their head probably from mashing the pedal more after having installed the mod lol

What if I want the same tone as the coupe just a good bit louder(I want people to know when I arrive but not when I'm 5 blocks away) is the hks muffler going to be much louder or just a little?

If you have a sedan, a coupe mid-pipe will get you close to the coupe sound. You can add an 05 sedan muffler, I think those are a little louder. An HKS axle-back will sound a bit louder, but not too loud. The HKS muffler sounds very nice by itself, but it just sounds more refined with the coupe mid-pipe.

Does anyone know if a g37 coupe midpipe would sound the same as the g35 coupe midpipe? If so would it be louder or quieter?

Motordyne

I've been very happy with the sound and quality of my Motordyne exhaust system.

Re: G_zus question below

I kept it all stock with just the XYZ and paired it with the plenum spacer (and previous Z-tube). I wanted more horsepower and close to stock sound, but louder....this pairing definitely accomplished that for a decent price...although I could probably use a tune.

Brett Abelson - did you keep the stock CATs on? I'm thinking about getting the MD XZY pipe but pairing it with some ART pipes.

From what I remember, it'll work. And it'll probably sound louder and better too since, if I remember correctly, it flows better.

You should be fine with most exhausts out there. The exhaust of the G sounds nice, but most of the sound of the G comes from the motor and not necessarily from the way the resonator and muffler filters the sound.
