Service engine soon light comes on occassionally.
My service engine soon light is driving me crazy. My car runs great, sounds great but periodically my service light will come on and go off very soon later. I check the codes and have gotten gas cap, vaccum leak, maybe weak fire on spark plug or loose connection etc... The codes have been like this. I put on a Mrev 2 and 5/16 spacer and fixed the problem about the vaccum leak. Im thinking it was the gasket was a lil bent on one of the bolts from a shop installing the 5/16 spacer and when I installed the Mrev 2 I fixed that problem. Anyhow Im wondering is it cuz I need a tune the engine is firing codes cuz the mods I have done w/ out a tune. Mods I have done are Mrev 2, 5/16 spacer, full catback exhaust, and a few other bolt ons. Please assist... im about to take it to a dealer and get a full diagnostic check, but im thinking I changed the air flow w/ the car a lot and the engine is just throwing codes from it. Thanks for the help. My car is at 85k miles btw.

With all your mods could be a lean condition requiring a tune!
There's a simple solution rather than getting crazy over this warning, drop by any auto parts store that has a reader. They'll check it free and tell you why it's coming on...Gary
^What gary said.
I ended up buying a OBD II code reader on ebay for $15.
It reads and clears codes.
Came in handy when I had to clear the "service engine" light prior to passing smog. Stupid O2 sensor.

Ya I have done this numerous times... I stated some of the codes it listed on the first post. Im thinking I have a lot of mods and a lot more air flow so it's just reading codes cuz it doesn't know wtf I did to it LOL. Anyhow I'll probably get a transmission service, maybe new fluid in the rear axle, new rear tires and go get a dyno tune. After I get the code checked first and probably take it to a dealer so they can do a better diagnostic check on it. Thanks guys.
