Cleaning Stillen CAI
Cleaning Stillen CAI
I've had my stillen CAI on my G since it was new, I put it on with like 130 miles. Now I got roughly 15k and I'm sure its dirty as hell. Anyone know how to clean these? I used to just buy a new filter for my older CAI's but I cant find a replacement filter for the stillen.

It's easy. Remove the Stillen. Remove the cone filter from the housing. Soak the cone filer in soapy water for 15 minutes. Then spray it clean with the hose. Then let it dry in the sun. Spray with the K&N oil. I let mine sit for one week after spraying with oil. Replaced with my OEM CAI. After one week, replace with the Stillen CAI. Finished! If you read the instructions on the K&N recharge kit, you will find all the proper instructions. Just go buy the recharge kit and read the paperwork.

One week to let the oil sit, that sucks

You don't have to wait a week for the oil to sit, just let it sit over night, one week is overkill. For me it took me one day to take my filter out, wash it, dry it, re oil it, and reinstall it. So far its been about 10k miles since the last time I cleaned it and so far no problems here.
