2006 G35 sedan engine into 2004 coupe

Sorry if this was already discussed on here. I have a 2004 coupe automatic with DE motor and need to replace my engine. There’s a guy willing to sell me his engine from his 2006 sedan which is also automatic and DE. But he warned me that it may not work with my car and he told me this story where a guy on Craigslist bought a 2006 engine to put into his 2003 and did not want to start up so he ended up selling the whole car. So my question is, is this true? What kind of problems will I run into? Will I have to buy parts or will I be able to use most of my old parts from my engine?

If you are taking a 2006 AUTOMATIC and putting it into a 2004 AUTOMATIC it will work, they are literally the same motor.

Craigslist guy probably bought a 2006 MANUAL and tried to put it into his 2003, 2005-2007 with 6MT used a different motor called the "rev-up", they were all technically VQ35DE but the rev had exhaust timing as well.

EDIT: google search "vq35de rev up differences" so you see the difference in the cam actuator covers, it's really easy to tell the two apart when you know what to look for.
