Nissan Camshaft sensor ? P0340
Nissan Camshaft sensor ? P0340
So during this hot weekend, the G reported the dreaded P0340
Anyone have any experience using a Nissan Camshaft sensor vs Infiniti ?
I read some parts are interchangeable but not sure if this is one of them.
Also, does the other sensor go bad right after the first one?
thx

Infiniti doesn't brand parts, they're all Nissan. If your car has over 100k miles it's advised to replace both. The question at that point is not if the other sensor fails but when. Fortunately they are easy to replace for DIY'ers, the cheapest I have found them is on Amazon. Others here have found them cheaper but I don't remember where. GL

My 05' just got the P0345 (driver cam sensor) code. I went through 3 sets of cheap ones and found the Infiniti (Nissan) sensor to be the only one to work correctly. I bought it directly through a Nissan dealership because you know for sure it is a genuine part and also they have revised them to a new part number. Anywhere else can be a china knockoff or old stock (not the revised sensor). The cheapest online dealership I used was Boch Nissan South - bochnissanparts.com. Don't be scared if your invoice says that it's for a Titan or other nissan because both cam sensors are common to the VQ35/VQ40/VK56 engines.
