Valve cover gasket replacement

Hey gang I'm in the middle of replacing my VC gaskets and this is what it looks like. Intakes have build up and orange staining on the valve train. Any ideas what this and should I be concerned? What causes this?
155K miles mobil1 since 16K miles. Runs fine
Thx

It's oil vapor ingested back into the intake plenum through the PCV system. You can use brake cleaner on a rag and wipe everything down to clean it up or leave it. Or unplug the PCV hose when it's back up and running and suck Sea Foam through the plenum PCV hose to wash it through the combustion chamber.

That looks like a NORMAL accumulation of oil considering the mileage. Installing a quality catch-can will help limit the amount of oil ingested but that is literally what the PCV system is designed to do, suck crankcase vapor back, into the intake so it gets burned up in the combustion chamber.

As for the head picture everything looks normal there as well but you look like you're due for an oil change, looks fairly dark where it's pooled on the bolt heads.

Cool, I wanted to check before I buttoned everything back up. Yep it's due for an oil change. Thanks for the replies. U guy's rock.
I'll wipe it down while I'm in there.

Thanks for the info. All buttoned up with new gaskets, PCV valve and fresh oil and filter. Replaced the original PCV.
