TechnoSquare ECU will be available for G35/G35C

Re: TechnoSquare ECU will be available for G35/G35C
I wonder if it's possible to have multiple modes on an ECU chip for us. I know I've seen chips that had as many as 6 different modes with some sort of dash-mounted button to switch between them. You have your stock program, a performance program, an economy program, a valet program. (The one I saw was on a truck, and it had a towing mode, too -- maybe it also controlled the tranny on that one.)
A valet mode would be nice at times -- drops the rev limiter to, say, 4000 and top speed to 75, plus runs more on the 'economy' mappings than the 'performance' mappings.

HAHA, great idea! But I'd restrict it more than that to maybe about to 25mph!

thanks for the replies, Let me know when the intro batch comes out, one other question, is there any way for the dealer to detect this software assuming you upload the stock program for dealer visits? (Ex S4 owner here, sheesh, that was fun changing chips for dealer visits) Thanks man! I would love to try out the intro software, being very VAG fluent from the S4. let me know

The rev limiter and speed governor are in the ECU program. I'm sure they'll address that. You can remove the speed governor, but I wouldn't want to remove the rev limiter completely.. maybe just raise it a bit.

well .. I guess on the track ... or whenever you feel it is the right time to open er up like that .....either way .. at least it is not governed.
I am very interested in getting one of these with multiple modes .... very cool
good luck bros... Im in Toronto... .let me know if I can help out at all.

Re: TechnoSquare ECU will be available for G35/G35C
The Rev/Speed governor 'values' have been located...
as for removing them, that is probably the issue..
there is NO need to raise the rev limiter at ALL on this VQ motor... The power drops after 6200 (with Rev limit set from the factory at 6800)... if you were to over rev the engine, at 7300 rpms, the crankshaft will start to stretch and you will destroy the engine.
to give a prime example. please take a look at the dynocharts...
Honda S2000 Motor (redline at 9k)
http://users.ev1.net/~shinglin/cars/s2k/dyno/s2k_1.jpg
you can see how this motor pulls all the way up to redline, hence a higher rev limit would benefit..
Now here's a 350z dynochart.
http://www.elistan.com/2003-02-01_dy...chaelD_001.jpg
Notice the drop off after 6200 for hp AND trq...
As for having multiple "switch over programs" i must remind you that this is NOT a daughter/piggy-back ECU program, it is a direct uploaded program to the computer's Flash Memory... to have a switch like you are talking about might be slightly difficult, i'll have to get back on you about that, but that's probably not going to happen....but might be in the future when in-car-real-time swapping via laptop will be come available...

Chebosto:
Good deal. I see your point on the rev limiter. My guess is that the speed governor could be increased to just prior to or at the rev limiter in sixth gear.
1st gear = 38MPH @ 6600 PRM
2nd gear = 61MPH @ 6600 PRM
3rd gear = 88MPH @ 6600 PRM
4th gear = 112MPH @ 6600 PRM
5th gear = 142MPH @ 6600 PRM
6th gear = 155MPH @ 5700 PRM
I wonder what top speed the extra 900 PRM would provide? Based on some quick calculations in an excel spreadsheet I would make an educated guess at 165MPH in 6th gear @ 6600 PRM. I wonder why they stopped 10MPH short of the vehicles potential…..
Conq:
Do we need it on the street, probably not unless you plan to partake in the next Gumball or Cannonball. I do think it is likely to be a factor at the track. The tire/rim size used at the track may change the whole issue with the speed governor.

Re: TechnoSquare ECU will be available for G35/G35
any update on when the chip will be ready. I think i will update my chip befor i do any other mods so you can deffently count on me ordering one. So if you have any other information on when they will be ready i would aprecate it.
Are there any other companies working on ECUs for the G35 coupe?
Thanks
