TechnoSquare ECU will be available for G35/G35C
Re: TechnoSquare ECU will be available for G35/G35C
I am trying to find out but so far the part numbers are different for both the tranny and ECU. The connector is the same though and trying to cross match the wires, then if the signals are the same.
This will take some time since we all have other 'hobbies' that pay the bills.

"I ask cuz, I had a friend with a 300Z with an ECU upgrade and he could not pass smog. He passed on everything except when they tested the car at idle. His output was 5 times higher than the alloowed output. He ran too rich. Therefore tagging him as a GROSS POLLUTOR. Thanks for the info."
sorta reminds me of some chicks my friends have dated ... (GROSS POLLUTORS)
keep up the good work CHeb

Smog for our Cars shouldnt be so much of a problem.. your friends 300Z might have been a turbo car?
this ecu shouldnt do anything at idle.. the program doesnt really kick in until past 3k rpms anyway..anything before that is still the factory stock settings..
if anyone's got questions concerns, please email me.. its hard for me to keep up with so many Z & G forums! :P

Merlin,
How goes the ECU comparison?
Is there a separate auto transmission control module?
If so, where is it located?
Keep up the good work.

DaveO, I've looked on the Coupe's ESM for info on the A/T electronics locale. Here is a pic of the layout. I believe it to be the same for the Sedan. The TCM seems to be located behind the passenger side kick panel, which is very close to the main ECM location:

Thanks, gsedanman!
Do you have a similar picture of the engine's ECU (ECM) location?
Hopefully many of us will need to remove them for reprograming in the near future.

The ECM is actually located a little forward and above the Tranny Control Module, but instructions say to take the glove box out to get to it.
Re: TechnoSquare ECU will be available for G35/G35C
i pulled my glove box to remove my ecu
but if your just flashing it you can connect to the bottom by jsut removing the black bottom panel

Merlin, How much do these ECU's cost? Is it like a few hundred? I'd prolly go that route rather than shipping my ECU all the way to Northern Cali for flashing.
Should have original to be stealth anyway right (warranty)?

gsedanman,
Jayson at Nissan Wholesale Parts priced the ECU and TCM for me.
His prices:
The ECU will run about $950.00
The TCM for auto trans cars is $575.00

Re: TechnoSquare ECU will be available for G35/G35C
My contact priced me at a whole lot cheaper. I would wait until we find out more about reprogramming the ECM. The research I did so far on the TCM is the wires are all the same between the Coupe and Sedan, but don't know if the programming is different. GSM feels that his Coupe shifts nearly the same as the Sedan he used to have, so it doesn't look like it will be worth it to switch TCMs.

In case you guys haven't read up on 'Chebosto's' work lately:ECU INFO
I've heard some questions lately on how effective mods will be in our VQ engines, and just finished reading Cheston's latest updates. Well worth the time.........
