Have you done a compression test on all the cylinders for comparison? Have you check the spark plugs? coil packs?
There are a number of JDM engine importers in California throughout the state, as well as some dismantlers in NorCal I've bought parts through in the past.
Unless you are building an engine for boost or racing, a JDM engine might be a cost effective route.

What was the compression test results on all cylinders?

I just picked up a 5VZ-FE from NorthwestJDMmotors, quick and painless, pretty sure they're based out of Sacramento as well but they'll ship anywhere.

I totally freaking out, and thought of the worse. Had the G for years without issues. I figured out what was wrong. Bad plug and maybe bad coil pack. I replaced it in Cylinder #5. The mis-fire gone. And planning to change all the plugs. Thanks
