2005 G35 Stumble No Code
2005 G35 Stumble No Code
As of now, I am not sure whats causing this, I want to hope its my spark plugs. Let me preface this that I checked my Spark plugs for a separate issue and Now it does this. It did not do this before I checked my spark plugs. Now
Symptoms: Random Stumble out of nowhere (Not Frequent) when in either D (Low Gear/Speed) and goes away like nothing happened, it also happened while I was taking a right turn slowly, I CAN’T seem to replicate the problem. Idle is at 500 (Always has been). Car drives totally fine even under WOT. While its Stumbling, I give it a little gas and it goes away
. Again, this is not frequent as it happens once or twice a day and sometimes not even at all. No Codes or even a blinking CEL while it happening and after
Procedures: Spark plugs (Including taking off intake, taking off maf, pulling ignition coils And Spark Plugs
I did read something about it being the ignition coil needing to be reseated and hopefully its that easy. Another thing I read was spark plugs needing to be replaced but It was fine before this.
The car was totally fine before I even checked the plugs, gap was fine, I even torqued it to spec. If anything, I want to say that the spark plugs were definitely harder to check on the Passenger side (Specifically the ignition coils, I may have had to do some angles to pull the last two coils close to the the cabin (Passenger side)). Not sure if this is relevant, could have bent it, Im not sure. I took off the vacuum lines and made sure to put them back
Any help would be appreciated

Did Idle Relearn
No Problem… Yet. Just watched MotorDynes
Idle Relearn video, idle is now at what looks to be 650? Recently checked for Vacuum Leaks, brake cleaner didnt show Any signs.
I did the relearn twice, first time being after the problem cropped up then seeing if an advanced Code Reader could change the idle. Then me thinking the Code Reader probably screwed something up and just tried it again Right now.
Another thing if important, when hot, sometimes the car does not Rev up when started, sometimes it kind of just stumbles up to normal idle. Could be important, Im not sire
Will let know of any updates

Update
Ok, father shook the engine wiring near the spark plugs and such and managed to actually replicate the problem, causing the engine to misfire like in the video. Turns out, the connections to the ignition packs were loose, like super loose, the Plugs wouldnt click onto the packs for some reason and Still wont.
Weirdly Enough, I made sure to put them on but I guess I didn’t check hard enough.
In retrospect, not sure Why I had to just post on the forums for this when I could’ve been checking it the whole time.
Again though, that doesn’t say the Misfire could’ve been solved right then and there, will be updating in two days to see if gone…

If the harness won't click onto the coil pack the retainer might just be broken. There's ways to make it seat and not fall out though, a zip tie is usually the most common.
Resolved
Hey everyone. I believe it was the Coil pack connectors, I guess they're getting pretty old as the connectors don't snap in anymore, I just push them in as much as I can. I haven't misfired for 2 weeks ever since I pushed them back. Not really noticeable to see if they're backed out again though, the only tell tale sign to know is only if the car misfires, to me it looks and seems as if its nice and snug into the coil pack. Thanks for the help people.
New Edit: I believe the solution to my sluggish to normal startup was due to a dying/trash battery, every time I try to start it now, it doesn't feel like it sluggishly raises rpm to idle, it launches to the idle like normal. I just bought a Redtop Optima with a lot of Cold Cranking Amps and the starter sounds like its actually trying to start my car fast now
