i believe you dont need to change your sparkies untill 100k but you should get the same sparkplugs that are for the g. its the ngk iridium.

bad plugs can cause misfires, but I don't know about it causing a lean condition.

However, a lot of things can cause a misfire... Bad plugs, bad wires, bad coils, clogged fuel-injector, etc....

If you have a bad fuel injector, that could easily cause a misfire and/or a lean condition... But there are diagnostic steps to check that... I went through that on my other car....

First place to start, is look at which cylinder is giving you misfires... All cylinders, only one cylinder, pairs of cylinders, etc.... That will help you look in the right direction...

1. Never trust the autozone guys, especially when they start talking about spark plugs and air filters. The blame all car problems on these in order to sell product.
2. You shouldn't need to replace your plugs until around 75k miles.
3. What other mods do you have on your car? You may just need a utec and a tune.

if your car is starting fine and running smoothly its definately not the spark plugs. your car wont run right if your spark plugs start to go but that shouldnt be till around 100k miles. the spark plugs will always be a little black, thats just a product of the combustion. Unless the metal tip is really back they are fine. Maybe you just need a tune
