REAL VDC mod, perhaps???

I was kinda thinking for quicker VDC on/off switch for the MT...

MAYBE...

you know how for Reverse gear, you need to press down on the **** and then move over to "R"?...

Well... have a contact switch on the shifter housing for "VDC off" when the contacts meet... and then "VDC on" when you press the **** down again...

Bad part is that whenever you go in reverse, you turn VDC "OFF"...

am i making sense?

hey why dont u take that VDC switch out and see how many wires are going to it. your idea has a few flaws i.e. not a simple on/off switch

Yeah....I just want to move mine over to the console right by the seat heater switches.

Should be pretty easy to just extend the wires.

Sounds complex. I think I'd stick with KP Technologies' offering.

Personally, I'd rather turn if off when I want .....rather than having to always remember to turn it on in the rain and wet.

with the kptech vdc mod you can turn it off and on whenever you want.

if you would rather turn it off when you want then that is the way it works from the factory.

you could extend it but you would still need to use the same type of switch that the factory one is.

I rather press the button myself than pay 39$ for it.

actually the VDC switch is pretty simple.

There are 4 wires
2 wires are for the light in it
2 are for the VDC on/off - one is ground. It is a simple momentary to ground.
So to move it really only requires one lead + ground (assuming you don't need the light)

It is as easy as that, 4 wires to extend. I did the same mod a long time ago. I do not know about the '05 but the '03 & '04 have a spot that is easy to cut from the center council. It was like it was designed to fit there. You can order a blank to fit in where you took the VDC button.

The reason they "hide" the switch is, thay don't WANT you to turn it off! If Infiniti had there way, you couldn't turn it off.

Yeah, it's a saftey feature, and they wouldn't want you accidently turning it off while looing for the heated seat switch
