Stupid Air Filters
Stupid Air Filters
1. Changing the Air Filter
I go to install my K&N this weekend and I thought, well there's no DIY on the forum so it must be pretty easy... what a PIA. I couldn't squeeze out the air filter (without destroying it) by just taking out the "one screw" that holds it to the frame, so I ended up having to take apart the whole intake assembly to change it; WTF, does everyone have to do this?
2. Changing the In Cabin AC Air Filter
This came with some instructions, which basically told me I have to remove the entire front passenger side lower dash. The first part was removing the glove box door which upon inspection looked like I had to remove the 20 felt tipped screws to remove the "glove box bucket" in order to get access to remove the hinge pins... That’s where I said “screw this” and gave up...
Is there an easier way to do this BS?

For the engine air filter I didnt remove the whole assembly but I remember it being a tight squeeze to get the old filter out and the new one in. There are 4 snap clips on the airbox that need to be undone
I havent done the in cabin filter yet but I have taken apart the entire dash area for my carputer installation. You dont need to take off the glovebox "bucket". There are 4 upper screws on the top part of the glovebox that you remove and the whole assembly will then be free
