HKS Intake, know anything about it?
I am looking to purchase an intake soon, and CAI is OUT of the question. I had one on my last car and hydrolocked it. I guess CAI in Florida was just never a good idea to begin with. I know everyone around here has a Z-tube with or without popcharger.
Curious what people's experience is with the HKS intake? Let me know if you have any info about it or where I could pick one up for cheap.
Thanks

Its the same as any other short ram. The only main difference is that the filter head is the foam mushroom style... which will suck in air faster, but also suck in alot of dirt. Also, the HKS has no heatshield, so thats not too good either. The HKS intake arm has a funnel shape... and is insinuating that it causes more airflow by using some kind of "suction". Thats not true. Its the plenum/intake mani that sucks the air. The air flow suction is limmited by the opening on the plenum and not the intake. IMO, its just another short ram intake with a flashier design to attract more customers.
If really like and and want it. I'd recommend that you custom make your own heat shield with some aluminum sheets you can buy at your local hardware store. And use thin silicone hosing, or those door guard strips to clean up the edges of the sheild so no one gets cut, and your intake doesnt get scratched up.
