SLAP STICK QUESTIONS

Re: SLAP STICK QUESTIONS
I understand that the G35 *coupe* does as you say...puts the manual trans in the same gear you were drivng in when you switched from the auto mode. Since the coupe is the newer car, I'd expect that's a harbinger of what's to come with the 2004 Sedan. I agree with you that the trans ought to stay in the gear you're already in when you switch from auto to manual. Of course, you could always just drive in the manual mode and switch the gears like they were a manual tranny.

I doubt the tranny is different between the coupe and sedan...probably just the computer programming. I wonder if the Infiniti dealers will be able to reprogram the sedans to act like the coupe...and will they be *willing* to reprogram them if they are able to.

Able but not willing. Infiniti Corporate specifically warned the dealers about doing anything outside of specs. Liability or something like that.

Re: SLAP STICK QUESTIONS
This post is messed up. You all are making fun of a fellow G35 owner about the way he calls his manual/auto shifter. Who cares if he likes his Maxima better, let him trade in the G35 for a Maxima then. Get the 2004 model, which has body change and leave the G35 behind.
As explained before, the number on the gauge says "4" but it's not really on 4th gear when driving 30kms. It's changes gears for you when you forget even if it says "4."
There's no winning arguements on forums so you all are just wasting time.
