no matter how fast im going or stopped the car is always in 4th gear , i can be at a light and then i put it into slap stick and its in 4ths, i can be doing 100 and its 4th , is that normal?????

 

My understanding is that it puts it in 4th as not to redline the engine if you switch to manmatic durring higher speeds. You could concider 4th manumatic the "default" setting.

no , i can be doing 10 miles per hr and then go put it in slap stick mode and its in 4th

im stopped at a light and then i put it over to slap stick mode and its in 4th

in my gf acura rsx , if im stoped at a light it at 1st
and when ever i put it into slap stick mode its in the gear im driving in

 

The reason for this is that when you switch over to manumatic it's automatically put in fourth. While in fourth it will change gears just like in automatic...whatever gear you put it in in manumatic it will change gears for you up to that gear. example: if in 4th will switch 1-2-3-4 for you...if in 5th will switch 1-2-3-4-5....if in 3rd will switch 1-2-3. This is to prevent you from hitting the rev limiter.

yeah but in most other slaps stick if ur at a stop and put into slap stick mode , its on 1st gear

so why when im at stop and then move it to slap its 4th , cars arent supposed to start at 4th gear

5th gear is not overdrive.

and when u switch it over it goes into 4th .. as a precaution.

its easy to slap that thing over. so if you where at a stop, or your passenger hit it without you knowing it, and you hit the gas it will not bounce off the rev limiter

 

I agree, sell your G35. The car is not made for you. By the way "slap stick" is a type of comedy, not a type of shifter.

nooooo the maxima wasnt a joke ,
the g35 is VERY over rated, yeah it got car of the year .....why ??probaly nissan paid motor trend a lot of money to advertise but its still only a "NEAR LUXURY CAR"

i know most of you think or try to convince your self its the greatist thing next to white bread but its not

i had my 2000 maxima se , it was roomier ,built better with better material. comfortable, bigger trunk, bigger glove box
the only reason i didnt get the 2003 maxima is because it has the same body style as the 2000 and i wanted something different.... if you have a second go to the nissan dealer and check one out

i like the g35 ,if i didnt i wouldnt of bought it but your paying xtra for the name not for quality
