Clickety-Clack from engine at idle
Anybody have any idea why my engine clicks and clacks at idle? It does it all the time, not just cold starts or fresh off a beating.
Thoughts or comments?

i hear mine at startup, i heard it has something to do with hydraulics building enough pressure to take up the slack for the timing belt......if this clickity-clackity thing is all the time, well, i would visit the dealer........

The clickety-clack that KLG35 mentioned is timing chain slap until it gets lubed, and should only last a few seconds at most, and only happen first start of the day.
Of course the timing chain may be at fault if it doesn't tension properly, and also an exhaust leak at the headers will sound like a tick-tick.
G/L and let us know what you find out.
