2005 CS Track Z: Stock vs. Crawford Plenum vs. Crawford Package Dynos
2005 CS Track Z: Stock vs. Crawford Plenum vs. Crawford Package Dynos
Well here's the thread Doug promised me... http://www.my350z.com/forum/showthread.php?t=139611
It appears as if the 2005's with the newer lower intake manifold and the extra exhaust mods don't respond as well as the 2003 and 2004 cars did, but still not too shabby IMO.

I've already responded on that thread. The gains from adding crawford cats, crawford headers, and a Borla TD were about 9 HP at top, which on one hand seems low from what you would expect, but on the other hand is still a definite gain. I've seen a few people not gain a thing from adding other brands of headers.
I agree that he can probably get some gains from leaning out his AFR up top. But I keep thinking that you have a better chance of making gains if you were too lean and a reflash adds more fuel, vs if you were too rich, and a reflash decreases the fuel.

1. He got pretty close to 20rwhp and 10rwtq near redline and the area under the curve was nicely elevated above stock. At 3100rpms his hp and tq curves took a nice vertical leap and stayed there to redline. That is always a good thing IMO.
2. These mods were designed to work with the 2003 and 2004 Z's and G's. The fact that they still do ~20rwhp at redline on the newly modified 2005 6MT's shows that these mods really work! (Just not as good as on the earlier model years where the hp was lower).
