i havnt found a stock 04/03 6MT but if we do a go with a 2005 AT w/CAI.. by around 140 you'll put around 7 cars on him with this mod... oh and torque is fun

Klumzyee, was your car stock b4 the mod? I ask because your baseline numbers are pretty high but i noticed that they didn't improve as much as the other guy's numbers whose car, i can only assume, was stock at baseline.

Does this mean that combining the new mod with other mods would be counterproductive in that you would have a huge diminishing returns problem?

Also, since the mod makes the hp and torque drop at the top of the rev range, do you now shift sooner or do you still let it go to redline? Specificaly, would the technosquare reflash that adds extra rpm to the revrange be pointless?

my car dynoed that stock.. i guess i have a good one xP lol.. i was the first one to test out this mod and set a good baseline to work with

His numbers are a little low cause we had a problem with his short ram intake.. but he has the "updated" or you can say revised version of the mod so hes making more power but still has that intake problem..

as far as shifting goes.. it depends.. if i shift at red line i'll go back to a lil above 5k RPM.. if i want to catch that torque i shift at 6,500rpm.. but in high gears or drag i'll shift at 7,100rpm.. iono i guess i have to do a little test to see how this goes.. next time im at a 1/4 track i'll try shifting at 6,700 vs 7,100.. but the 05 MT with this mod really puts down the power in 3rd and 4th gear (i'll need longer then a 1/4.. our 3rd ends at around 85mph.

theres a couple of ways to not loose that upper power but =X. for now the mid range is great especially when youre comming out of a turn

When Tony hinted at something new, he didn't want to give much away. From what he did tell me, I got the impression that this is going to be some sort of complete upper manifold (not just a plenum) and that it would be under $500.

THAT IS MY IMPRESSION! don't quote me on that because a price was not mentioned to me!!!

I havent been able to justify spending any money in engine mods on this car because none of them seem to have really given any significant gains, at least ones that are worth the money..

this one may be a different story though.

Let me add:

After witnessing this first-hand, it made me want an 05.

When i first saw the numbers and dyno-charts for the 05, i saw what NISSAN/INFINITI did and laughed off the 05's and held strong to my belief that the 04s had the better engine.

This changes things.
This one mod alone allows the 05 VQ to generate a tremendous amount of torque in the midrange vs stock.
3000-5500 RPM is where you really need it, use it, and appreciate it.

Let's not forget that out of the factory, 05 redline is at 7100.
vs the 04's at 6600 (actual may be a few hundred more).

Only time will tell how great this "Rev-Up" engine will be.

Kudos to Tony again.

Well, what I figured was that all the Hype that was surrounding the 05's increase in HP was all just some marketing strategy. I don't believe the 03-04's and 05's were all that much different. It was a lose in Torque (barely) and a gain in HP (barely) so really, the two engines aren't that much dissimilar. I haven't really heard anyone with concrete evidence that would put it otherwise (in terms of the actual feel of the car from one model vs. the other). Now, maybe I will be a believer. Only time will tell.

The 2005 6MTs differs:
1 Stronger Rods
2 Stronger Rod Bolts
3 Variable Valve on the Exhaust Side
4 New ECU
5 Intake Manifold
6 Redline at 7,000RPM

maybe more but thats all Im sure of
