Got the other half of the MREV yesterday. Install was pretty easy, not too much more than the spacer install (which I already had). Everything went well, took the car for a spin, first thing I noticed is the intake noise is a lot louder than before and a slightly different tone. Car was a lot more responsive and I was able to get the traction control to kick in much easier. I'm gonna try to get the car to the dyno this weekend (hopefully tonight).

Anybody have an idea of how many tenths, if any, this mod will take off zero to sixty, and quarter mile times? Rough estimates?

cool , I just installed the Stillen CAI + Ztube and only really hear the loud noise past 5k RPM , sounds real cool - not like the hondas when you hear that constant bogging noise while barely tapping the gas pedal. Next mods are mrev/hks hi/ts flash

Have you heard a B18C at WOT? man i own one and let me tell you this MY G though it sound good but it has nothing compare to a TypeR screaming especially around 6-9K RPM talk about nice engine with I/H/ (I raced my friend's TypeR and both on WOT he overpower the sound of my engine and all i can hear is his. Honda engine can produce 100 horsepower per liter and are very strong motor... I'm not saying one engine is more powerfull than the other but if i'll pick the sound hands down i'll pick those little bastard screaming.

If driven right and shifted at the proper shift points, IM betting 3 tenths and 3 miles per hour in the quarter mile.

I'd have to go with a 03+ Cobra or Z06 at WOT as one of the best sounding engines. A B18C5 might make 100+hp per liter, but I'd much rather have the 7-liter LS7 in 06 Z06 pumping out a stock 453whp/411wtq, hauling down the 1/4 mile in the mid 11s at 127mph+

I'm betting not

yeah, Type-R's sound cool but the G35 engine has a more expensive intake sound if you know what I mean. BTW 10whp or -100lbs will yield roughly 1/10th off 0-60 times

Thumbs up

I was able to get to the dyno tonight. The only mods on the Blue run (k&n drop in, z-tube, grounding wires). Red run added the MREV mod.

Basically, it does as advertised, the power is much more usable as predicted with a bit of sacrifice of top end, but I don't race my car so its not a big deal to me. :thumbs up:

Edit: Just to clarify also, I believe I received the modified lower plenum (It had the runners machined down). This may account for slightly better numbers. I had the 3/8" spacer as well.

Thanks for the chart. I didn't need a chart to tell me what I was experiencing. However, I know for sure it's not all in my head. I have the exact same set-up, as you do.

Congrats AzSi22!

Wow! Tremendous gains there. The peak gains are good but what I like most is the width of the highend. The power band is much wider and much more usefull. Even if you don't race, you've got a faster ride. Congrats!

DaveB,
If you don't think the above plot doesn't make for a faster and more powerfull car, you've smoked way too much of the funny stuff.

Looking at the new chart tells me this particular car will indeed be quicker with the MREV. There's hardly any drop in power after 6300rpms. Russ' dyno plot didn't look near this good plus his car took a much harder hit in power after 6200rpms.

K&N filter and grounding wires might help

Can someone please help me with info on what the MREV mod actually is and how much it costs etc? I have PM'd Hydrazine twice over the last week and he has not responded...
