I just finished the install (Mrev Plus) last night and now my back is killing me. I thought I can break the record for average first time install but I guess I was wrong, it took me about 3 hrs just to be safe. The sound is great after 3.5K but on idle it was just the same or maybe just a little, not sure what other Mrev fellow think. Driving impression is great, now I can make my 3rd gear spin without a problem, but after a while I got used to the power easily! I hope I did the install right!) it does pull hard on 1st – 3rd but not much 4th – 5th, is this normal? Now I want more power and cant wait for the next mod that you guys are working on. the only thing I have is Z-Tube and K&N Combo, and the sound is great on WOT. Please come up with the next mod!!!!

So if I read it correctly, the 5/16" spacer works better with the MREV than the 1/2" spacer?

I have the MREV + 1/2" and want the maximum output for these two mods.

The 1/2" spacer affords a bit more peak power in the upper range. Whereas the 5/16" spacer provides a larger area of gains under the curve throughout the other ranges.

Personally, I rarely drive into the red or anywhere close to it. So, the 5/16" spacer suited me just find for my daily driving needs.

I hope this helped.

Most definitely. I rarely do any highway driving but more stoplight to stoplight.

Looks like I'll be heading on over to buy the 5/16".

Anyone looking for a used but in good condition 1/2" spacer?

LOL . . . You offer a decent deal and a Non RevUp owner will ****** that spacer up quicker than you can blink.

So I have done some searching and have a question for you all that received the kit. Does it come with all the gaskets needed to install? There should be 4 total required if you are doing the isothermal.

I ask because I have read in some past posts that the kits only come with 2 and you are supposed to reuse you old OEM gaskets (not the greatest idea IMHO).

that's actually a good point my mechanic brought up - you have to reuse the upper plenum stock gasket, which is an impossibility if your car is heavily mileaged (like if somebody in 2008 bought a 2003 and tried to do the plenum, they'd have to wait for a new gasket from infiniti probably)

After thinking about it a little more you would only need two new gaskets, one between the upper plenum and the spacer and one between the spacer and lower plenum. The thermal isolator below the lower plenum is a gasket so you wouldn't need another pair there. It does seem from the pictures on the website that the spacer kits (as well as MREV) only come with one gasket thereby requiring you to reuse your OEM gasket.

I am in no way talking bad here but I really think this should come with ALL the parts needed for the install, including gaskets. Reusing gaskets is not in any way a good idea. They are designed as a one use part and you invite problems when you try to squeeze pennies like that.

I re-used my stock gasket, even though I had two spares in hand. The low clamping pressure of the aluminum-on-aluminum parts led to little if any visible deformation.

I have sinced tracked the car twice at RA and made 40+ passes down the strip with no issues.

If you really want a new gasket, they run around 10 bucks at the parts counter.

It replaces our very restrictive muffler bearings with ones that perform better.
