I think I'm almost more concernced with my ET's. Getting a 103 in the quarter with a rev-up 6MT seems to be pretty easy with the spacer mod. That's pretty hot and won't be seen without revup internals IMO.

If you were going to choose between a kjr lightened pulley setup and a UR UD pulley setup, which would have the best impact on 1st gear rev acceleration?

I like that kjr is only 170, I don't like that a complete UD system is like 400 and the gains really no tbeing there (I had pulleys on my old mustang, didn't really do *that* much....they were much cheaper, like 120, so it was okay, but 400 for pulleys+belts is really turning me off)

As has been stated many, many times, the lightened pulley makes less difference than an underdriven pulley. Since the UR UD pulley is both lightened AND underdriven, then it is better choice, performance wise. Also, you do not have to get the other pulleys as part of the UD setup, you can just buy the manin crankshaft pulley.

Again, though, some people think it is detrimental to engine longevity. I've made my choice.

me too - i decided to go with the JDR lightened pulley........i read enough posts on here and my350z that people who get it notice a difference in acceleration. Didn't find 1 unsatisfied person with the JDR pulley, so i figured i'd just try it.

Keep in mind that even once people make a mistake, they will work to justify it even to the point of convincing others to do the same. They've spent the money, they want to feel that they've made a good decision.

Anyhow, the lightened pulley will surely increase your 1st gear acceleration (as much as +2 hp out of nearly 300 hp can do so). Honestly I'd save your money and go on a diet instead.

+2hp!!!!! w00000000t!@!!@@!@!@!@!!@!@!@!@

still, I didn't get much from the underdrive pullies on my old mustang, so it's not like i'm expecting a lot. as long as it's slightly better in 1st (even if it's just a hair noticeable), i'd be happy

If your butt can detect a 0.7% increase in acceleration, you should rent it out to tuners.
