His profile states a Coupe, but not sure if it's auto or stick tho.

Re: Baseline Dyno Run

Carlos3186,
seems to low base on what.
A lot of people here criticize with nothing to back it up.
I have been in the dyno over 10 times with my G or my friend's and the #'s are allways the same.
stock- +/-228-230
CAI Injen- +/-232-234
CAI AEM+pulleys- 234
CAI Injen+Stillen exh(mine)- 249
CAI Injen+Borla dual- 238
CAI Injen+pulleys+Borla headers & Exh- 250

And every pull was at the same Dynojet three diferent G35-6MT at 85F sea level PR.
I could get copies of any pull, I just need to up load them into my yahoo album.

Re: Baseline Dyno Run

I have a 6MT Coupe, It was 95 Degrees Outside about 100 in the shop 100% Humdity day. I am really happy with those stock numbers, First pull was completely STOCK (Paper Air Filter), Second Pull Was With NO AIR Filter.

Re: Baseline Dyno Run

Good information, especially that there is only a 1.5 HP difference between stock air filter and no filter. It makes one wonder if there is any benefit to installing a "high performance" filter.

Re: Baseline Dyno Run

Yeap, This raise my question, Do you guys think that CAI performs better than NO filter?

Re: Baseline Dyno Run

YES YES

You add cooler air from below - supposedly and you venturi the air flow and force it with that shiny pipe. You get 1.5 hp for no filter to at leat 10hp for cai.

Re: Baseline Dyno Run

I thought the drivetrain loss was approx. 20% for Auto and 15% for Manual?

Which means the average numbers should be
~225 RWHP for Auto
~235 RWHP for 6MT

Re: Baseline Dyno Run

What gear were you running the car in? I ran mine on 4th gear completely stock on a Load DynoJet. After 8 runs my best was 246.3 RWHP and staying in the 240s.

- Don't argue with idiots. They will bring you down to their level and beat you with experience.=P-

Re:what are u talking about

sport compact car dynoed a 6spd coupe, and it pulled 242 hp at the wheels bone stock. i have heard from a bunch of people on this site pulled 251 at the wheels with an injen intake a 6spd. I HAVE BEEN AROUND DYNOS AND CARS MY WHOLE LIFE AND THERE IS NO POSSIBLE WAY THAT A CAR WILL HAVE 280 HP AT THE CRANK AND 225 AT THE WHEELS. THE LOWEST IT COULD BE IN THE SAHARA DESERT WOULD BE 237. SOMETHING IS EITHER WRONG WITH THE DYNO OR YOUR CAR.

Re:what are u talking about

I see the dynos were done in 4th, that is not a 1:1 gear and hence there WILL be greater losses than in 5th. Most cars are dynoed in whatever gear is 1:1. For the G this happens to be 5th.

The RX has left the building, I have been driving the G for about 6 weeks!!!!
