How hard is G35C oil change compare to Hondas?

How to located oil filter? I used to change my oil on my Integra R. I think they are pretty easy.. Just wondering if it's a lot hard to change G35 oils and filters.

I hate to wait in shops.

under the dust plate is the filter and the oil drain plug...go buy a fumoto drain valve first...then drain the oil replace the filter then replace your stock drain plug with the drain valve so next time all you have to do is flick the switch and it drains for you...the filter might be hard to loosen through the hole in the dust plate so loosen the bolts with a 10 mm socket driver to pull down the skirt some...

what ^ said. the dust panel is time consuming if you're doing it manually.

once the cover is off, it is easier than my old prelude...its just the cover that takes awhile to remove, some people actually cut a hole in it so they wont have to remove it, to me its no big deal, takes an extra 10 minutes...besides maybe its just me but I like being under the car and looking at it

Easiest of all the car's I've ever owned. Both the filter and the drain plug are very easy to get to and drain in the proper direction when on ramps.

If you are going to change the oil yourself from now on I recommend getting the Fumoto Oil Drain Valve.

The oil change on the G35 is so easy, I'd be ashamed of myself if I had some place do it for me. The hardest part is removing the blasted plastic cowl.

I think so, not too sure. Save the hassle and purchase online, it comes really fast (shipping is cheap).

The Fumoto Oil Drain Valve is a time saver. Install it, you won't be sorry.

How do you know how much torque you are applying on the valve when closing since you cannot use a torque-socket-wrench to tighten it?

You have to use a crescent wrench, no?

Much easier than the integra, had one before!! no need to worry about the oil that collects on the cross member and exhaust!!! everything just drains straight down. I would recommend taking the dust pan off. it has a strip of metal in the middle. I just used a cordless drill and backed all the bolts off since they have slots for a phillips screwdriver.

Unfortunately, you can't use a torque wrench. However, use any other wrench to tighten the last turn. Rule of thumb: The valve's lever should be facing up and by this stage turning even more is impossible or you will rip something. Normal for the included blue washer to look squeezed, which is the point to create a nice seal.
